My name is William H. Allen. I am an art teacher looking for opportunities to creatively enrich the lives of students.
I have been teacher art since 1989 for the Melrose-Mindoro School District in Wisconsin.
During this time I have taught all grade levels including K-12 grade.
Currently I have been teaching all Junior High and High School art classes.
I am proud of my students, my classes and the Melrose-Mindoro community.
I look at what I teach and I am very proud of all of it. My students learn to draw, to understand color and (through a variety of sculptural explorations) stretch their abilities with issues of dimension and depth. What I enjoy the most is helping students find and build upon their artistic abilities.
I bring to the school district I work for real depth in artistic ability and experience. I have taught the following high school art classes: drawing, painting, pottery, clay sculpture, large clay sculpture, silk screen printing, air brush, constructionist sculpture and fundamental crafts. My greatest interest is sculpture. To keep my skills I work on drawings and paintings through out the years.
My classrooms are comfortable environments. Students in my classes know exactly what my expectations are, both academically and behaviorally. Respect I insist, this I am talking about respect for each other. Showing a bit a humor, laughter is a tool I use, it is important that students are comfortable and enjoy being in my class.
Academics’, being productive is very important. Students are encouraged, expected to use their time wisely. I make it a point to inspect, connect with each student’s efforts for each class period. My observations are both direct and indirect. It is important to allow students the room to both struggle and grow. I believe it is important to look at all content areas three ways; technique, details and esthetic.
I am an experienced veteran art educator.
I enjoy working with students, providing them opportunities to be creative.
I enjoy my employment with the Melrose-Mindoro School District and the community it serves.
I believe in commitment and will always be a dedicated employee.
Sincerely,
William H. Allen I am an educator who is committed to the ideals of, “Making a Difference.” I value public education and believe that public education improves the lives of young people through-out this country, that for our society to advance it is through the education of youth.
