Bio Blitz 2016
Bio Blitz 2016 - Reflections from Interstate State Park near St. Croix Falls WI.
The water based activities were the highlight, students in the field (water) collecting samples, making observations, recording data and helping to identify what they collected. Experts working side by side with the students, sharing expertise and knowledge and answering questions.
The plant, bird and other vertebrate and invertebrate studies - It was great to be with people who are true experts in their field. One of my students shared a comment with me when we got home that the Blitz was, “more like a field trip than volunteering,” and I feel he was referring to this part of the day. The experts were amazing and the kids really got into working with them, especially, Brian, Erik and Nathan.
Highlights for Mel - Min. Frogs and Birds with Erik and Brian
Mussels with Mike and Mike
Plants with Nathan
All the amazing volunteers, staff and experts that gave their time to pull this off.
A fund has been set up for anyone interested in donating to our new Athletic Complex. See the attached letter for more information.
